Rachael A.
Tell us a bit about how you grew up and your childhood: I grew up playing many sports, mostly competitive soccer, being a pastor’s daughter, and had lots of friends!
Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Becoming more like Christ in every part of my life specifically through learning and meditating over Scripture.
Profession: Christian Blogger!
If you wrote a memoir, what would the title be? “The Awkward Series of Rachael”
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I went on a mission trip to Mexico in 2014, and that’s when I first realized how real He is!
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Being in His presence for hours a day!
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): Currently reading Destined to Win by Kris Vallotton. Just read through the easiest way to describe shame. Shame is doing something and then feeling like you wont be accepted/ liked after you have done it. That is why when we are shameful, we tend to keep those things to ourselves.
Top three essentials: My ESV Journaling Bible, iced almond milk latte, and high top Vans.
How did God speak to you recently? He gave me a vision of himself, bright white light reaching His hand out to me and saying, “I am training you to be like me.”
Hobby: Watching cheesy 90’s- early 2000’s romantic comedies, thrifting, and trying new coffee shops with friends!
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Reading your Bible daily, having a community around you consistently challenging you, and keeping open communication with Jesus (aka praying, worshipping, and talking with Him).
Favorite person in scripture? Paul. I believe Him and I are very similar in many ways.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? How God can love and forgive someone despite all their mess-ups, selfishness, and disobedience.
How do you leave your mark on your community? I like to buy coffee for as many people as I can, when I go places; I enjoy getting prophetic words for people wherever I go, and just reminding them of their identity in Jesus.
Favorite holiday? Thanksgiving or Christmas.
A goal you have? Write a book! Open up a coffee shop with my husband! Go to Bora Bora!
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We watch the movie Christmas Vacation every thanksgiving to ring in the holiday season!
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? “God, how are you so good?”
Thing you want to raise awareness about: Pornography and masturbation among women.
What does your morning routine consist of? Wake up. Make coffee. Sit in bed while reading my Bible. The best time of the day.
What is on your nightstand? A bunch of stuff that has dust on it simply because of my laziness.
Define Christianity in a sentence: He gave it all, so that we could give it all.
