Chellene T.

Today, Chellene speaks to us about how she took her questions about God to God Himself, the Bible character she relates to in this moment, and how happiness belongs to Him.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: The quality and consistency of my daily relationship with my Father

Profession: Supply chain project manager.

A one sentence bio of yourself: Full of joy and confidence in my Lord!

When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? When I was 10 or 11, I was always asking questions and arguing with my dad about God and our Seventh-day Adventist faith. One day, I guess he was done with all my questions, he literally told me: You want to know if God exists? Ok, so ask Him.

I said, What? And he replied: Yes, ask Him! So, doubtfully, I did, and since, I’m just telling God, Ok, ok, I got it. You exist!! He expresses Himself in so many ways.

“He expresses Himself in so many ways.”

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? I’ve started the Bible Reading plan of Amazing Facts, and it’s just like I’m rediscovering the stories of the Bible, full of lessons.

Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): Prophets and Kings by Ellen G. White. I’m reading the chapter about King Solomon, and unsurprisingly, I kind of can relate to him with all doors that are opening in front of me, at the moment. It’s so easy to shift away, so I deeply pray that God preserves me from losing Him from my sight, ever.

“It’s so easy to shift away, so I deeply pray that God preserves me from losing Him from my sight, ever.”

Top three essentials: The place of Jesus in my life, my obedience to the Law of God not to be saved but because I’m saved, and my family.

How did God speak to you recently? Like by whispering in my ears… seriously. I just can’t explain.

Hobby: To learn. Seriously.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: 1/Pray for the Holy Spirit to take over; 2/Read and take time to understand the Bible; 3/Believe and persevere in what was read and understood in the Bible by action of the Holy Spirit.

Favorite person in scripture? Joseph.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? If you have God, you have all you need. Happiness belongs to Him.

“If you have God, you have all you need. Happiness belongs to Him.”

Favorite season? Always summer!

Favorite holiday? Christmas time.

A dream you have? I have everything I would hope for except a husband [I haven’t discovered who that is, yet!].

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Please explain the love of someone like you toward someone like me.

Thing you want to raise awareness about: God is not uniquely what religion says about, look at the nature around you, and then like the Bereans, go to check in the Bible with the light of the Holy Spirit what is the truth about Him!

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? One hour with God in my Bible, workouts, shower, get ready for work and read my mails, by this time.

What is on your nightstand? My Bible and a book about Elon Musk.

Define Christianity in a sentence: To know who Christ is according to the Bible, otherwise, there is no sense in bearing His name.
