Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 6

SHINING LIGHT
DAY 6: Mindfulness
By: Gabriela Yareliz Gonzalez, Editor of Modern Witnesses
Hi friends!
Ladies, it’s almost day 7, but I hope we will all continue to notice the little things and realize they aren’t as little as they seem. Today, we are talking about mindfulness.
If you feel so inclined, share with us your list (or part of it) in the comments or on our Instagram post. Even if you don’t make your own list, I hope some of these things, as simple as they may seem, remind you and me of just how blessed we really are.
xx

Bible app/ Bible
It is our Truth. God speaking to us. The story we are all a part of. Start the day with it, and don’t end the day without it. Thank you, God, because you speak to us. So many people died and risked their lives to preserve this precious book. Value it.

Journal
God speaks to us through the quiet moments of reflection on His Word and reflection on our lives, too.
Quiet
Silence can be more profound than the noise or words we could say. in the busy city, it’s often hard to find a nice quiet place. I love walking into empty old churches. The minute the door closes, the city noise is left on the other side. Find some silence, whether it’s in the morning hours or in the late stillness of the night. We all need it.

Taking walks
I used to do this more, while in law school. It gave me so much mental clarity and exposure to so much beauty. A good walk is an adventure I am always grateful for.

Workouts
Finding someone who inspires you to stay fit and maintain your temple is such a gift.
Prayer
Our lifeline. Thank you God because you work, you listen, you empathize and you never leave us.
