Inspiring biblical passage of the moment:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)
Many people in the world think that to succeed you must look a certain way, talk a certain way, or dress a certain way. But God says, “You will succeed because of My Spirit.” It is only through God’s spirit that anything of lasting value is accomplished. This verse encourages me to always remember that God is on my side, and not to trust in my own strength and abilities, instead, I must depend on God and work in the power of His Spirit in everything I do.
“It is only through God’s spirit that anything of lasting value is accomplished.”
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: The Word of God is one of our most powerful weapons against the enemy, so I have been praying the Word of God over every area of my life. I do not have to accept what the devil tries to whisper in my ear, but instead, I can take every thought captive and replace it with the Word of God. I am focusing solely on hearing God’s voice and obey His voice above all others.
Profession: I am an artist, who creates faith-based products for women who are struggling to remember God’s precious promises in the busyness of life, with art and apparel that speaks to their heart.
A one sentence bio of yourself: I am a 26-year-old who loves God and His people!
When did you first encounter God? One day, I was reading my Bible. I had no scripture in mind to read, I was flipping through pages, and Psalms 34:18 immediately got my attention right away. It reads, “The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” It was like His Word illuminated off the page just for me. I knew right that moment that I needed to know God in a saving way, with tears flowing from my eyes. I repented of putting a guy before God, and asked God if He could write my love story.
That day I decided to follow God wholeheartedly. It was a sweet surrender like one I had never experienced before in my life. I would spend time with Him wanting to know what He desired out of my life daily. God speaks. He truly speaks! He will speak to your heart. He showed me areas of my own heart that needed to be changed. He longs for broken relationships to be restored with Him.
We can only run so far from Him, but He’s always ready and willing to save us at the point of our need. Sister, I know what it feels like to want to be adored, cherished, and loved by someone special, but the ONLY true fulfillment came was when I received and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. He filled up every empty space in my life. Since that day, I have never been the same, and He is daily transforming me into the image of His Son.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? I am learning who God is in the suffering. It has been a season of growth and maturity. A whole lot of trusting and surrendering to the Father. Word, worship, and prayer have been my essentials in this season.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I am currently reading “The Dream Giver” it is such a great book. I have learned that God gives everyone a dream, but it is up to the individual to wake up to it. He also reminded me that my dream is important to Him.
“I have learned that God gives everyone a dream, but it is up to the individual to wake up to it.”
Top three essentials: Word, worship, and prayer have been my dynamic trio, in this season.
How did God speak to you recently? My word for 2018 has been ‘obedience,’ and it is like I have been seeing it everywhere, so He has been reminding me to stay obedient to Him. I just love that God is always speaking!
Hobby: Photography is one that I recently discovered that I enjoy doing.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, believe the Word of God, and apply the Word of God to your life.
Favorite person in scripture? Jesus is my favorite because of the way He led by example, being obedient even unto death. He had all power and resurrected my life, so I could have everlasting life. What a Savior!
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I want people to know that if He saved me He can save them, too. He has no respect of persons.
Favorite season? Due Season. Ha, my due season is coming!
Favorite holiday? I do not really have a favorite.
A dream you have? I am living my dream life, of course there are more layers to it that I am waiting to be fulfilled. I am so thankful God made me a promise, and I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I pray that people’s lives be changed by the transforming power of the Holy Ghost.
