Ayla Lynn

Today, Ayla Lynn speaks to us about experiencing Jesus through beauty and how sitting in God’s presence changed her.

Tell us a bit about how you grew up and your childhood: I grew up in a loving two parent household with three siblings. I have one older brother and two sisters; I’d be considered the middle child. As a young girl, my family and I attended the Upper Room Church that preached on conviction and the power of the Holy Spirit. This led to my deep desire to know about the power of Jesus Christ and overall who he was.
Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Be strong and courageous nor afraid or to be dismayed for I am with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Profession/Mission: I’m called to the marketplace ministry. I will be pursuing my masters in marriage and Family Therapy. The Lord has called to build relationships and so my mission is to help those build in the area of relationships in their personal lives. I’m also called to help women find their Identity In Christ, discover their purpose and be the example of what the lifestyle looks like to be obedient to Christ. Within that, we also discuss singleness.
“The Lord has called to build relationships and so my mission is to help those build in the area of relationships in their personal lives.”
If you wrote a memoir, what would the title be? Seeds Of Soil
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I had my first encounter with God at 7 years old, I was in church listening to my pastor preach and out of nowhere I began sobbing, desiring to want more of the God that was being preached. Then as I got older, I decided to try Him, and I began speaking to Him as if He was my friend and I saw how He would actually answer my prayers and so I learned God through relationship before I knew Him through His Word. [On] March 3rd, 2020, I devoted my entire being to Him. I let go of entertaining men, I gave up worldly friendships, and stopped letting the world influence me into being a counterfeit of what God has called me to be. I allowed God to take control, while discovering the true identity that already lied within me. I let Him define me, use me, shape and mold me. Since then, I haven’t looked back and am only moving forward striving to uplift women in the Kingdom Of God.
How would you describe Jesus? I’d describe Jesus as a father that plays many different roles. He can be whoever you need him to be– a friend? A savior? A dad, a helper whomever and in that way He’s able to change and access our needs. He is God. The Alpha and Omega the beginning that never ends.
How has your relationship with Him changed you? My relationship with Jeus has changed my life drastically, I used to be apart of the world indulged in pornogrophy, haughtiness in my attitude and so many more things and as I began to go further and sit in His presence and learning to know about His character it allowed me to see that I didn’t want to be my old self, because of our friendship and knowing that the things I would do was wrong and it hurt Him, not only did it hurt Him but I was grieving the Holy Spirit. Grieving the very person who is trying to protect me. My relationship with God freed me, freed me from my own insecurities, my own doubts and pains from the words that were spoken over my life to bring about destruction and if it wasn’t for that personal relationship, that one on one time with God. The knowing Him for yourself and not for others. I wouldn’t be here. I would be out in sin and harming His body in ways that would bring about my destruction. If it wasn’t for our relationship I wouldn’t want to do life here on this earth because without God there is no reason to live. He is my breath, and He is my existence.
“If it wasn’t for our relationship I wouldn’t want to do life here on this earth because without God there is no reason to live. He is my breath, and He is my existence.”
What has been the darkest time in your life, and how did you see God in it? The darkest time of my life was a relationship that I was in. It was pressure and for 11 months I was confused, in agony and doubt. I was depressed, and I allowed myself to be uncovered. I allowed man to break my mental down from where it was and that caused me to hit rock bottom in my relationship with God. I began to get upset with God because I couldn’t see Him. I couldn’t hear Him, and I thought He’d left me though I know in His word He tells us He will (never) leave but in that season I felt alone; and it wasn’t until the power of the Holy Spirit that brung about strength and revelation that released me from the 11 months of trauma and tourture. In that season, the only thing I knew to do was pray because I didn’t have the strength to open up the word, I spent most of my days arguing, crying and sleeping and with that time I would just pray in my head, I could barely pray out loud and some days at all. BUT God has a way of allowing things to happen in our lives that’ll make us grow deeper roots with him and by the failing of that relationship it gave me much more power and understanding of (relationship), and my relationship with God has grown more fruitful and much meaningful because of the situation.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): Driven By Eternity by John Bevere. This book is teaching me that our treasures should be stored in heaven and about our heart posture that just because we may attend church or pray for four hours and speak in tongues doesn’t mean that we’re going to have access into heaven. But it’s truly keeping our minds stayed on the Lord and having a heart posture of purity and characters of Charity. It’s helping me to stay kingdom motivated and not worldly motivated.
