Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 1

SHINING LIGHT
Day 1: The Ability to Learn
Dear friends,
We are back to our seasonal tradition. Welcome to day 1 of the Seven Days of Gratitude. I am so excited we are starting this year’s journey! Thank you for being here. Gratitude has incredible power to shift our mindset, and I am a big believer that it helps us see God’s goodness more clearly, even in dark times. I encourage you to join us on this gratitude journey. If you tag us and share, I love resposting.
Please share your gratitude reflections via posts and stories with #7daysofgratitude and tag us (@modernwitnesses_). As always, I am grateful for you. I hope those of you outside of the United States participate and share in why so many of us love the holiday of Thanksgiving.
Wishing all of you a beautiful season of gratitude.

DAY 1: THE ABILITY TO LEARN
Today’s theme is the power and ability to learn. I have seen so many of our brothers and sisters submerged in isolation, political chaos, fear– some of us have had a lot taken away in the past two years. We’ve learned to live differently.
I have found a lot of empowerment, throughout my life, through learning. Learning, to me, has always been a way of expanding horizons and learning to see God’s wisdom and creativity through different fields. Whether it’s math, science, history, religion– there is so much we can learn. As we learn, we may find answers, or better yet, more questions may emerge.
Knowledge is something that no one can take away from us. It helps us build a better future. It helps us maintain integrity and think.
Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
The world today tells you to just listen and accept whatever you are told. If you haven’t learned something new in a long time or dug around for yourself, take time to explore something new. Make it a goal, and plan to execute it. If you need a place to start, start with Scripture. Learn Scripture. Hide it in your heart. It’s something that will give you a large return in your life. It’s life and truth.
What have you learned lately, that has inspired you?
