DAY 6: REST
They say that we need to “learn to rest, not quit.” At the core of rest is trust. It is often hard to surrender and relax. It’s really hard for me to rest, but rest is critical for our well-being, especially our spiritual well-being. God commands us to rest. It’s in His sacred law which reflects His character. Our God led by example at creation by resting on the seventh day.
This year, most of us spent more time inside than we typically do. But being inside doesn’t equal rest. In fact, I think this year, we were more confined and still, but our souls were extremely far from rest.
Some ways my soul has found rest in this season has been through reading (I loved The Barbarian Way), prayer walks and prompt journaling.
How did God bring you into rest in this restless season?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
