Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved.
In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.’”
Isaiah 30:15 New Living Translation (NLT)
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Order. God is a God of order, and success follows order. I am in a place where I am starting to get areas of my life in order, and I am even doing that in an orderly fashion by focusing on my household and family before any other area.
“God is a God of order, and success follows order.”
Profession: I am professional makeup artist and entrepreneur.
A one sentence bio of yourself: Authentic, resilient, driven, sensitive woman who loves God.
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I encountered God in my childhood. My mother introduced me to who God was from a very early age. We didn’t grow up in church, but my mother would buy me and my siblings videos and books about who God was. My mother would also teach me about who God was during one-on-one personal conversation between me and her. These conversations were so life changing because my mother struggled with addiction, and would have these moments with me when she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. In moments that could have been painful, she taught me love! My mother passed away when I was a child, after she cleaned up her life, and I am forever grateful that she gave me the greatest gift ever of knowing who God is.

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Serving has helped me grow spiritually in this season, and sticking close in fellowship with other believers and members from my church. I also would say going to a Christian therapist. I encounter job loss, a breakup, and a lot of life transitions during this season, and I knew that in order to heal myself, I could not do it alone, and that by helping the needs of others, I will experience the healing and deliverance I desire.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I just read in its entirety Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely, by Lysa TerKeurst. It has taught me some major life lessons about dealing with rejection that I have been experiencing from childhood.
Top three essentials: My phone, daily conversations with my eldest brother, music.
How did God speak to you recently? I recently went to a Christian young leader’s conference that was life changing. I experienced worship and praise on a level like never before. God spoke to me about where He is taking me. He told me that this is just the beginning of what He has planned for me.
Hobby: Spending time with my family, listening to music, reading, and writing.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: 1). Being consistent in your worship routines. You have to fellowship and be in God’s house or presence more than a Sunday morning, attend prayer and Bible study services. 2). Worship. Worship could happen any way or any time; it’s taking a moment to get into God’s presence. 3). Always try to live by the Spirit.
Favorite person in scripture? David. The life of David is one that is so relatable to me, as someone who love’s God, and just wants to be a (wo)man after God’s heart. David’s story is so dynamic, from small beginnings of a servant boy, to being called, the wilderness, to kingdom, being a soldier, a creative, a husband, and father. We see his ups and downs. I think it is the perfect example of being a Christian and loving God.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I want people to understand that there is a God, and there is hope from a painful past. There is no way I could be here if it wasn’t for His saving power and love. I want people to know that God is always with you, ALWAYS!
Favorite season? The summertime. I love being outdoors, the water. It is a good way of worshipping for me.
Favorite holiday? Easter. I like that it is the day our Savior was raised; it represents new life, and naturally, it represents a new season.
A dream you have? My dream is to see my God given vision “Your Sacred Beauty” come to life. To teach women God give beauty, to teach women that healing and wholeness from a life of pain is possible.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We spend all our holidays together.
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? I will be in too much awe to be questioning God. I will just be happy to spend the rest of my life in eternity.
Thing you want to raise awareness about: Mental health and Christian young womanhood. I have a degree in psychology and over 5 years’ experience in the mental health field. I want to raise awareness around the shame of being a Christian that suffers from depression or anxiety. I also want to educate young Christian women from my own experiences of the processes that you encounter being new in Christ, and letting them know that they are not alone in this journey.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? I am a single mom, and I usually get up and get myself ready and my son ready for school.
What is on your nightstand? My jewelry box, books, and my glasses.
Define Christianity in a sentence: Giving up my life for someone who gave His life for me.
