Today, Michelle speaks to us about the experience where she felt God so closely, how God heals even that which we did not know needed healing, and her dream of starting a women’s ministry in her country.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

For a long time, this was my life motto, and in this past season, God gave it to me again. He still reminds me over time that through every situation, if He is with me, I’ll be stronger.

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Trust; it’s funny because when God tells me to trust Him, I’m like: God, I trust you. He’s pushing me to entrust every little detail of my life. He has showed me that He cares about the big things as much as He cares about silly stuff I care about.

Profession: I studied Marketing, and I had an amazing job in retail, but last year, God called me to attend a discipleship training school, so I left everything and went to L.A. to pursue this dream. I graduated recently, so right now, I’m praying to know what next steps I should take.

A one sentence bio of yourself: Twenty-four-year-old beloved joyful daughter.

When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I grew up in a Christian family, so we used to go to church and my dad was talking about God all the time, but I was just following them, not really following God.

So, four years ago my dad passed away and through that hard season, I felt God closer to me. I was alone, but all the time He was there; He was there to take care of me and to heal me; He was there to carry me and to let me know that I may not have my father, but He’s the ultimate father and He’s everlasting.

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? As I mentioned before, I left everything to follow the dream that God was giving me, during this season God healed a lot that I didn’t even know I needed to heal. He redeemed issues and He gave me amazing sisters and awesome adventures. So leaving everything helped me to lean on Him in every area of my life. Now I even ask him if I can get a pair of shoes or when I should send a message or things like that. I learned to depend on Him because He’s always there, we just need to invite Him to be part of our day.

“During this season God healed a lot that I didn’t even know I needed to heal.”

Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): With by Skye Jethani. It talks about how sometimes we just want to serve God but He wants us to make life WITH Him, not for Him. It’s an amazing book, and it shows the importance of embracing our relationship with Him instead of just waiting for Him to tell us what to do.

Top three essentials: Bible, lip balm and snacks!! I always carry snacks! You never know what God has planned for the day, and you know, you may get hungry!

“You never know what God has planned for the day, and you know, you may get hungry!”

How did God speak to you recently? Oh, my precious Father! He’s the best! Recently, He has been reminding me that all the promises He made for my life will be fulfilled. That His promises are real, and this morning He gave me this verse, Numbers 23:19: “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” So yes, He does speak!

Hobby: I love to read romantic books.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Pray about EVERYTHING; Surrender to God, even when it’s hard, invite God to your every day (He’s there, but you’ll feel it more when you invite Him to your day).

Favorite person in scripture? Can I pick two? Jesus and apostle Paul! Jesus was the perfect shepherd, and Paul attacked the church and after his encounter with God, He left everything to share the gospel. It shows me how God can really use anyone and change not just a life but an uncountable number of people.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? That He’s personal and that He pursues us. I’m introverted, so if I have something to share with you, it’s really because God is driving me to you, and I want them to see His love through me.

Favorite season? Fall! Pumpkin spice season!

Favorite holiday? Christmas! I love how families get together, the ones from far away fly back home, cook together, bake, and how we can also take this time as a thanksgiving act.

A dream you have? I want to have a women’s ministry, in my country. I never thought about something like that, but God placed that in my heart.

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Every Christmas season, we have a Christmas movie marathon, snacks, lights and pijamas.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? First, I’ll thank God, IN PERSON! Then I’ll ask Him if we can have lunch while we talk about my life and family through His perspective.

Thing you want to raise awareness about: Women’s identity in Christ! I want to stop the lies that a lot of girls and womens have about themselves.

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Give my day and family to God, read some devotionals (I love proverbs31.org they are really easy to relate too and quick to read to start the day), and listen to any playlist to actually wake up.

What is on your nightstand? A pack of tissue paper (sometimes God speaks to me at night, and I weep!), water and my cellphone.

Define Christianity in a sentence: Life[long] relationship with God.
