Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: My favorite passage of scripture at the moment is Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: My focus lately has been trusting in God’s plans for me. I have realized that when I worry less, God takes control. His plan is always perfect.
“I have realized that when I worry less, God takes control.”
Profession: Student who would love to become a professional photographer.
A one sentence bio of yourself: I’m obsessed with anything vintage, and a lover of photography.
When did you first encounter God? I have grown up in a strong Christian household, but I didn’t start to really form a relationship with God until I was 9 years old. My faith and relationship with God grew at a church youth camp I attended when I was 14 years old.
What has helped you to grow spiritually in this season? I have grown a lot spiritually by surrounding myself with good Christian influences, and self-discipline.
Just read/currently reading: I just started reading The Family Alter by Timothy A Dodd. It’s a daily devotional of daily scripture readings. It has taught me how important it is to read God’s Word daily, and to pray without ceasing.
Top three essentials: My phone, earbuds (I love listening to setapartgirl podcast!) and lip balm.
How did God speak to you recently? Recently, God has been speaking to me about letting go of the past, and letting Him take control in my life. I now look forward to the future, and everything that He has in store for me.
Hobby: Photography! I love editing photos and capturing beautiful moments that someone gets to keep forever.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong:
1. Pray. Prayer changes things.
2. Study scripture. Take a few minutes out of the day and read God’s word.
3. Surround yourself with positive influences. If you have the opportunity to be with other believers, take the opportunity!
Favorite person in scripture? I have always loved Esther because of her bravery. She did what no one would have dared to do. She went to the king without being summoned. Regardless of what could have happened to her, she knew that she was doing the right thing. She was afraid, yet she found strength.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I hope people see how much God loves us, how faithful He is, and that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Favorite season: Summer, without a doubt!
Favorite Holiday: I love Christmas! It’s one of the only times my whole family is all together.
A dream you have? I would love design/help design modest clothing! When I was younger, I wanted to be a modest wedding dress designer. Being able to design something beautiful, flattering, and modest would be so cool.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: My family all gets together on Christmas Eve to open presents, have an amazing Christmas dinner, and we play games together.
Question you will ask when you get to Heaven: I can’t think of a specific question I would ask. I imagine I will be very overwhelmed, and amazed by the presence of God.
Thing you want to raise awareness about: Childhood cancer and missing persons are things I would like to raise more awareness about.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.?I’m usually practicing piano/guitar or watching YouTube.
What is on your nightstand? My Creative Bible (It has beautiful line art illustrations on the pages that you can color in with pencils), a diffuser, dried roses from my 13th birthday, and a candle.
Define Christianity in a sentence: “All things are possible, only believe.”
