Today, Ericka speaks to us about confidence in prayer, how God spoke to her through a close friend in a dream, and choosing God above status.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Confidence; I lack confidence when it comes to praying for others. I am always so scared I will not pray “correctly.” I’ve been told many times that if I just let the Lord lead, I wont need to think about it, but I always stress. So, my goal is to build confidence and to realize I’m doing this for Him not me.

“So, my goal is to build confidence and to realize I’m doing this for Him not me.”

Profession: I am a professional mommy of two, accountant and lover of Christ.

A one sentence bio of yourself: God, Husband, Babies, the order in which I love most.

When did you first encounter God? The first encounter I can remember was at my grandma’s church, I was probably 12, and we were all standing up front for prayer, and a man started praying for me, and I felt the Holy Spirit come over me. The feeling was so overwhelming, I couldn’t hold myself up and down I went.

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Honestly, the struggle is real and the thing that helps me grow spiritually is my amazing friends. They are constantly encouraging me to stay strong and look to the awesome father we have.

Just read/currently reading: Right now, I am reading, Translating God, by Shawn Bolz.

Top three essentials: Dry shampoo, mascara and Chapstick.

How did God speak to you recently? God spoke to me through a close friend in a dream. I had been feeling like I wanted to fall away from the church and go back to my old ways, and God revealed it to a friend who then spoke to me about it and encouraged me to stay faithful through all the struggles.

“God spoke to me through a close friend in a dream.”

Hobby: Crossfit and running!

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Always love, be in the word daily, pray, pray, pray!

Favorite person in scripture? My favorite person is Moses. His story is incredible. He chose God over royalty. He was not afraid to set Gods people free. I feel like we should all live this way.

“He chose God over royalty.”

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? Love, love and love! I want them to see that I am able to love anyone and everyone, as long as I am trying to be more like God.

Favorite season? My favorite season is fall, by far! I love the cool weather and being able to dress up in warmer clothing. In Naples, we don’t usually get cool weather, so it’s a nice change.

Favorite holiday? CHRISTMAS!!!

A dream you have? I dream of evangelizing all over the world and bringing my family with me to spread God’s love.

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We try to do game nights as often as we can!

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Why didn’t you make us all the same color? It would make things on earth a million times easier!

Thing you want to raise awareness about: Protecting your children from this cruel abusive manipulative world!

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Try to wake up with coffee, but I am usually not successful until about 11 a.m.

What is on your nightstand? A bunch of water bottles, my Bible, a few books and flowers.

Define Christianity in a sentence: I believe Christianity is love. We need to show God’s love everywhere we go. As Christians, that’s what it’s all about. Without love, we are nothing.

“Without love, we are nothing.”

Until next time, keep witnessing!

XOXO
