Ashley speaks to us about being honest, her favorite Bible character (which may be someone you have never thought of), and the Bible passage that has been a great comfort as she and her husband moved across the country.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: Currently, I am reading Psalms 37.
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Psalms 37 is helping me process that God is not only there for us during hard times, but He is working in those hard times.
Profession: I wear a lot of hats! I work for a daycare, run my own blog, and sell baby items on Etsy.
A one sentence bio of yourself: I am a wife and mommy, who loves to share the love of Jesus with others!
When did you first encounter God? I became saved when I was seventeen, on a trip in India.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? I just moved across country with my husband, while I was eight months pregnant. We moved away from all our friends and family, and I have had to completely rely on God to carry us through this difficult time of changes in our lives.
Just read/currently reading: Currently reading The Pastors Wife by Gloria Furman.
Top three essentials: A good book, my baby wrap, and a Diet Coke.
How did God speak to you recently? Right now, He is constantly asking me to just trust Him to provide all the things I need. Whatever that might be, to not worry about what it looks like or try to fix all my problems, myself. He is trying to teach me to let go of my unbelief and grow me in my child-like faith in Him. I often feel He is telling me to surrender my need to control.
Hobby: I love reading, watching movies, and sewing.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: It is unbelievably important to read your Bible every day. If you can do nothing else, do this. In addition to that, I make sure I am involved in a strong Christian community, and I am frequently stopping to praise God for the small beautiful things in everyday life.
Favorite person in scripture? My favorite person is probably Noah’s wife. Nowhere in scripture does it talk about her response to Noah building the boat, but it seems based on context she supported him. God told Noah what to do, but the Bible doesn’t say He talked to Noah’s wife. Noah probably told her what God told him, but she just had to believe Noah, that he was right. She was being told that all her friends, her sisters, her brothers, nieces, nephews and parents were not going to survive. She was told that her entire life was going to end, and she was going to lose everything, and she wasn’t even told by God, just by her husband. She didn’t freak out, she didn’t leave or call Noah a fool. She believed him, and she went with him, and she supported him.
“She believed him, and she went with him, and she supported him.”
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I hope that people learn that it is okay to be real and honest. God wants us to be vulnerable with our fellow Christians and be supportive and empathetic to others, and I hope to be an example of that.
“I hope that people learn that it is okay to be real and honest.”
Favorite season? Summer.
Favorite holiday? Valentine’s Day.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Every Christmas Eve, we go to Red Lobster for seafood!
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? How did Stonehenge get built? I want to know the answer to a lot of the world’s mysteries!
Thing you want to raise awareness about: I am very passionate about adoption and the foster care system. If just one person from every Christian church in America adopted from foster care, there would be no children left in foster care.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? My baby stays up late, so we have to sleep!
Define Christianity in a sentence: Loving Jesus as your Lord and Savior, trying to become like Jesus, and loving others.
