Acacia speaks to us today about our sufferings, trusting God fully, the fact that God doesn’t fit into our little box where we place Him, and raising awareness about broken families and how to keep them from breaking.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Since Jesus went through everything you’re going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way.  Then you’ll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want.

You’ve already put in your time in that God-ignorant way of life, partying night after night, a drunken and profligate life.  Now it’s time to be done with it for good.” 1 Peter 4:1-10 (MSG)

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Trusting God, not my emotions.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Profession: Student.

A one sentence bio of yourself: I love love. I’m always hungry… for more of God.

When did you first encounter God?: I have been encountering God and all His goodness all through my life. The first Scripture that impacted me, and still to this day, is  Revelation 21:4:

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season?

Trusting and giving it all to God. Putting God first and not my pain.

Romans 8:18: “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

“Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limits.” Psalm 147:5

Also, reading His Word.

And Abide. I love this app.

Just read/currently reading: The book of Revelation and 1 Corinthians. And about to start Romans and Acts.

Top three essentials: Love, cuddles and rainy movie days.

How did God speak to you recently?: He speaks to my heart, and through His world also through worship songs. Hear His voice the loudest.

Hobby: Photo editing and applying scripture.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong:

First, and most important, is spending constant time with God in prayer (talking with Him); have time dedicated to Him. A quiet room away from the noise of this world, somewhere you can open your heart to His.

Second, repentance.

Third, reading the Word of God– reading it constantly, fighting the urge to be occupied with other things.

Favorite person in scripture: Jesus. Also, David, his love and being after Gods own heart

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? That He is hope and a miracle worker. He is the Creator of all things. He doesn’t fit in our own little box.

I want people to look at me and experience the love that God has for them. To learn that He is here, and He is love, and He is bigger than what they are going through.

“He doesn’t fit in our own little box.”

Favorite season: My favorite season would be spring. Life is so alive and that’s when all the little animals are born.

Favorite holiday: Every day.

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: BBQs and birthdays.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven: Where was Moses’ body buried?

Thing you want to raise awareness about: I would like people to be aware of broken families, and how God needs to be the center of every relationship, whether it be marriage, dating, or on your own.

“God needs to be the center of every relationship, whether it be marriage, dating, or on your own.”

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Lying in bed, talking with Jesus, committing my day to Him. Usually, staying in bed a bit longer than I probably should.

Define Christianity in a sentence: Worshiping our Father and loving Him with everything. Faith. Living a life based on love and living like Jesus. Endurance and perseverance.
