Inspiring biblical passage of the moment:

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

and

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.” (Proverbs 31:25)

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Understanding His word and really focusing on what I say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to.

Profession: Creative Mompreneur.

A one sentence bio of yourself: My life is not perfect, but I live a purposeful one.

“My life is not perfect, but I live a purposeful one.”

When did you first encounter God? I always knew God in my life. But it wasn’t until 2016, where I would say God was known in my life. Growing up, He was not much of a priority, until I met my husband. When I saw him get baptized, a part of me was like ‘wow… I want that,’ but didn’t know what that “that” was.

Until two years into our marriage, July 2016 changed my whole life, when I realized it was a relationship with God, not a religion. It was knowing God through everything and anything of who I was. It’s being able to surrender all of my being, to grow to know, seek, and hear Him in my personal way and to know that although it took until I was 27 years old to know this– it was completely on His timing.

“July 2016 changed my whole life, when I realized it was a relationship with God, not a religion. It was knowing God through everything and anything of who I was.”

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Prayer and His Word.

Just read/currently reading: Currently reading: The Weekly Prayer Project and Spiritual Leadership.

Top three essentials: Passion Planner, Bible, and current read.

How did God speak to you recently? I would say through my project of 2017. When I rekindled my faith in 2016, I took a break from my business to use 2017 as my “rebrand.” But it ended up being my year of “God speak, I will listen”… it also refers back to the song that saved me, “Say The Word” by Hillsong.

He told me to start a blog called #52SpokenWords, I shared a word weekly and tied my love for hand lettering into it. These words were a reflection of my week. About week 20, God spoke again, when I started to feature women He specifically placed in my life. This series then grew to other women, launching WOMEN+WORDS. God gave me 52 spoken words for 2017 for myself, and I gained a new perspective of how God manifested other women I had featured. He gave me a clear view and direction where I want to lead in my business, and it just didn’t stop. It was this obsession of wanting to hear Him more and just have Him use me in all ways that will test me, that will grow me, and that will allow me to be closer to Him. I continually ask Him to speak, even in the silence, I know He is working.

“It was this obsession of wanting to hear Him more and just have Him use me in all ways that will test me, that will grow me, and that will allow me to be closer to Him.”

Hobby: Hand lettering, Open mics, and creative workshops.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Prayer. Community. Books. (Mainly the Bible).

Favorite person in scripture? I would say the virtuous wife in Proverbs 31. As a mother and wife, I feel her and I are the same.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? About His love and power through my creativity and inspiring words. How knowing God can be done creatively.

Favorite season? Every season in growing with Christ can be a journey of blessings and struggle… it’s being able to be grateful in any season we face.

Favorite holiday? Jesus’ Birthday!!! Seriously though… Christmas! *laughs*

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: This is honestly, in the works for our family! Otherwise, I would share that being able to gather old toys from my kids now (2, 4) and give to those who need it the most. We wrap them up and hand deliver to families so they can give their children a Christmas. Compliment cards, something I would love to start once the kids are older is write cards with simple compliments to give to strangers.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? I wouldn’t ask a question, more like “Thank you for using me in this world, to glorify your name creatively.”

Thing you want to raise awareness about: Awareness of God’s Love in this world.

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? I am asleep… *laughs* …Unless I have something, then I am getting ready while listening to worship.

What is on your nightstand? It’s my desk and my vision wall.

Define Christianity in a sentence: A fearless love.

“A fearless love.”
