Today, Airriaunte, speaks to us about her word for the new year: “freedom,” the effect of sharing your faith, her pursuit of a life of service, and how she hopes to give her all.

Airriaunte M.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “She is clothed in strength and dignity, and laughs at fear of the future.” (Proverbs 31:25) I want for this scripture to lead me farther in my walk with Christ throughout this year!

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: As it is the beginning of the year, I choose a word that I want to live by, which is freedom. In 2017, I received so much grace from God, which has led to me pursuing everything God has placed on my heart for 2018.

Profession: I am a senior in college! I graduate in May with my BSW. During my last semester, I will be doing my internship at a homeless shelter, and I am thrilled to see the impact I make there, as well as the things I will learn about myself and the community. I am also a blogger and a fitness coach! Both blogging and coaching allow me to express my two passions.

“I will be doing my internship at a homeless shelter, and I am thrilled to see the impact I make there, as well as the things I will learn about myself and the community.”

A one sentence bio of yourself: A girl chasing after God’s own heart.

When did you first encounter God? I have known God all of my life. But it wasn’t until after my freshman year in college that I had a true relationship with Him. God showed me how big He was and how small all of my selfish desires were. I let the cross fill the gap between me and God.

“I let the cross fill the gap between me and God.”

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Coming out of this past season, I have felt kind of lost, not really knowing where to go, though at the same time having purpose. I learned to keep going no matter what. What helped me stay true to my purpose was sharing my faith every day. This year, I get to live in the freedom that sharing Gods love brings.

Just read/currently reading: I am currently reading the 5 Love Languages: Singles Edition. This book is helping me to discover the way I give and receive

Top three essentials:

Coffee: A good cup of coffee is so important.

Journal: If I don’t write down my thoughts, they will literally run my life.

Bible: This is where I come to be rescued and find strength.

How did God speak to you recently? I have felt the need to have a consistent guest writer for my blog, since I have a lot going on. So, just the other night, I reached out to the girl that has been on my heart!

Hobby: I started dancing at the age of 3, and I don’t believe there are many forms that I haven’t tried. Dancing holds my heart! One of my big hobbies right now is writing and talking to people on the internet.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong:

Having people around you that have the same beliefs as you. This is super important.

Study his word every day, and you will learn so much about yourself and also instruction for your daily life.

Serve others; this brings constant joy to your life, and you will never lack when you share Gods love with others.

Favorite person in scripture? Paul is hands down my favorite person in scripture. He has an authenticity about him that I love, and it is what we all need.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? Our acceptance into the kingdom of God is freely given, as long as we believe in Him. God’s arms are always open for us and waiting for us to turn to Him.

Favorite season? I would have to say that my favorite season is fall. I view this season as a time for us to let go of the things that are holding us back. It’s also a season of change! I love seeing all of the different color trees.

Favorite holiday? I don’t really have a favorite holiday, but if I chose, it would be Christmas. Christmas is a great reminder of how Jesus is alive and moving in our lives.

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Most Thanksgivings, we invite soldiers at the base near us over for dinner.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? I really just can’t wait to see how my life connects. I want to feel totally empty, at the end of my life. Once I know that I have given my all, I hope that any question I had on earth would be answered.

“Once I know that I have given my all, I hope that any question I had on earth would be answered.”

Thing you want to raise awareness about: When we sacrifice who we are as mere humans, we will discover what it is that God has had for us all along.

“When we sacrifice who we are as mere humans, we will discover what it is that God has had for us all along.”

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? It depends on whether I am at school or at home what time I wake up. At school, I get up at 6, read my bible, make breakfast, get ready and head to work. At home, I’m still asleep. *laughs*

Define Christianity in a sentence: A journey of sacrificing ourselves for a God who loves us more than anything.
