Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 7

The Seven Days of Gratitude are an annual tradition and gratitude challenge for us at MW. We have seven days leading up to Thanksgiving (U.S.) where we reflect on different themes that help us reflect on the things we can be grateful for. Some are obvious and some are a bit more random. I hope you join us on this journey of reflecting on gratitude. You can journal it or share with us on social media @modernwitnesses_ on Instagram. Tag us or do #SevenDaysofGratitude. As always, we are grateful to God for you and everything you are doing to reflect His light.

Our day 7 theme is:

His presence.

In this season, we reflect a lot on this idea of God with us. Jesus. It has been a whirlwind of a year. This year in April, I got off a train in a daze, not knowing what had happened. I never got to work. That day, there was a shooting in the tunnel. I wrote about it here.

I remember when I was walking home, I saw a man cross himself as he opened the gate to head out to his day. The whole morning was a profound confirmation of how important prayer is and how God’s presence moves with us, no matter where we go. We are never alone or out of His reach.

I want you to think about the trenches God has been in with you throughout your journey. What did He bring you out of? When was He in the fire with you? Share with us.

To me, it is a privilege that we have Him so accessible. Jesus walks with us. He promised us, He would be there until the end.

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
