Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 5

The Seven Days of Gratitude are an annual tradition and gratitude challenge for us at MW. We have seven days leading up to Thanksgiving (U.S.) where we reflect on different themes that help us reflect on the things we can be grateful for. Some are obvious and some are a bit more random. I hope you join us on this journey of reflecting on gratitude. You can journal it or share with us on social media @modernwitnesses_ on Instagram. Tag us or do #SevenDaysofGratitude. As always, we are grateful to God for you and everything you are doing to reflect His light.

Our day 5 theme is:

sparkles.

Maybe, I am just a 90s kid through and through, but I love glitter. I loved the glitter gels one could rub on one’s cheeks and the glitter eye shadows and powders. I loved little sparkle lining on a holiday dress and a little sparkle in jelly sandals. A little sparkle never hurt anyone.

I find that in the holiday season, we tend to see more sparkle. Maybe, it’s because the night is darker and the little lights make everything more festive.

Sparkle doesn’t have to be literal. There are people whose eyes sparkle. Personalities that sparkle. Smiles that sparkle. Hope that sparkles in the night.

What in your life gives you that little pick-me-up? What adds sparkle to your day? (It doesn’t have to be anything shimmery, it just needs to make you feel like you are capturing the light). Share with us and tag us!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do theylight a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
