Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 2

SHINING LIGHT

DAY 2: MOVEMENT

Dear friends,

Welcome to day 2 of the Seven Days of Gratitude. If you missed day 1, it’s not too late to join in on the fun. This year has been tough– that said, there is still so much to be grateful for. I encourage you to join us on this gratitude journey.

Please share your gratitude reflections via posts and stories with #7daysofgratitude and tag us. As always, I am grateful for you. I hope those of you outside of the United States participate and share in why so many of us love the holiday of Thanksgiving.

Wishing all of you a beautiful season of gratitude.

DAY 2: MOVEMENT

Today’s theme is movement. I think this theme has made it onto the list each year. It’s something I refuse to take for granted. I remember a long time ago watching a film called “Paris”. There is a line in that film I never forgot, where a character says to another something along the lines of: Be grateful. People in hospital beds wish they were well enough to run through the streets of Paris like you.

This year was a more sedentary year for a lot of us. Walk, run, dance.

At the beginning of this pandemic, I was joking that my Fitbit thought I was dead. My step count virtually went to zero during the lockdown. It logged my steps to my studio kitchen and back to my chair. Little by little, I incorporated walks and pilates/yoga back into my routine. This was a game-changer, and it uplifted me.

What is your favorite way to move? Has there been a particular form of movement that has kept you sane in 2020?

Share with us on stories or post on IG, and tag us @modernwitnesses_ and #7daysofgratitude. You can also find us on Twitter @modernwitnesses.
