Naomi R.
Tell us a bit about how you grew up and your childhood: I grew up in a Christian household, going to church. But I never felt having a close relationship with God, I did believe in him but I never felt His presence. But when I was 15, I had an encounter with him and gave my life to Christ.
Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 and “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. These verses have always been an anchor to my life.
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: My main focus, spiritually, is to bring glory to Jesus in whatever I do.
Profession: A college senior.
If you wrote a memoir, what would the title be? Caritas now and forever.
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I first encountered Jesus at a camp when I was 15. While worshipping, I just heard a voice in my heart saying, “I’m waiting for you to come back home”. [Those] words made me cry, and then I told Jesus that I’m ready, and I’m sorry. Then, few weeks post camp, I started blogging on self-acceptance because that kept me away from Jesus for a long time. I wanted young people to know that their worth is found in Jesus only.
“I started blogging on self-acceptance because that kept me away from Jesus for a long time.”
How has your relationship with Him changed you? My relationship with Christ changed my life. It taught me to love myself the way God made me, and it made me closer to Jesus.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Reading the Word of God and studying it.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I’m currently reading the book of 1 Samuel, and what I’ve learned is that disobedience leads to destruction.

A goal you have? To become a filmmaker and apart from that, my ultimate goal is to bring glory to Jesus.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Baking cakes on birthdays together, [and] having game/movie nights on weekends.
The question you will ask when you get to heaven? How was life on earth? I would ask Jesus this.
