Heather
Tell us a bit about how you grew up and your childhood: My childhood was awesome! I grew up with awesome parents, two sisters living on Lake Huron, in Camlachie, Ontario. Our summers were especially fun playing at the beach.
Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in about what we do not see.
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Moving slow enough to always be aware of the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Profession: Homemaker and influencer.
If you wrote a memoir, what would the title be? Hot Mess Heather: Saved by Grace Daily
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I grew up learning about God and first gave my life to the Lord when I was around 12. It was not until I was 29 that fully gave everything to God and really dove into His Word to get to know Him better. Reading the Bible has transformed my relationship with God and my ability to hear from my Heavenly Father.
How has your relationship with Him changed you? Knowing God doesn’t make everything perfect, but it does make everything more purposeful.
“Knowing God doesn’t make everything perfect, but it does make everything more purposeful.”
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Honest conversations with God and not worry about the religious practices of prayer.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): Honestly, not read any books, just the Bible.
Top three essentials: God, family, and phone.
How did God speak to you recently? Through honest conversations while out for a walk. I find I hear from Him best in nature.
Hobby: I don’t really have any hobbies, right now. I love my influencer work and spend most of my spare time on my craft.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Read the Bible every day, even if you don’t understand it right away; find a Bible study that can help you understand the Word, I like First 5; Connect with other people of the faith, even if it’s online.
Favorite person in scripture? Noah because he followed Gods lead in a huge crazy request. I can only imagine the type of ridicule Noah and his family faced preparing for the flood but they listened to God anyways, and that inspires me every day.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? God loves you just the way you are, and He wants to be close to you and nothing you have done or can do will stop that love.
How do you engage with your community? I love to share on lots of different topics, but I find when I am vulnerable, it opens up to the best real, relationship-building conversations.
“I find when I am vulnerable, it opens up to the best real, relationship-building conversations.”
Favorite holiday? Christmas
A goal you have? Write a book; Do more public speaking about God’s work in my life;
Grow my business enough that it can support many family members, including jobs for my children one day.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We have lots, but I would say I am most proud of how we celebrate the every day as special and a gift.
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Honestly, I can’t handle everything God handles; not sure I want to know all the details.
Thing you want to raise awareness about: Purposeful living, from the mundane to the miraculous, it all has purpose and when offered to God– it all has great value.
What does your morning routine consist of? 5 a.m. wake up, start the coffee, brush my teeth, wash my face, sit down and start my Bible study. Six a.m. social media work, get my husband off to work, makeup and get dressed, get the kids up and eat breakfast together.
What is on your nightstand? Chapstick and a Bible verse written on a cue card.
Define Christianity in a sentence: An individual relationship with my Heavenly Father.
