Jazmin R.

Tell us a bit about how you grew up and your childhood: I grew up the youngest of three children. Born in the Bronx, NY and raised in Queens, NY to a single mother. I didn’t grow up in the church and didn’t know too much about the Bible.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: So I have two: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 .

“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” Psalm 46:5

These two biblical passages have been my inspiration as I pursue my walk with Christ.

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: My spiritual growth focus at the moment would definitely be time. Spending more time in prayer, connecting with God and being more in tune spiritually. We all get distracted by the worldly things, it’s important for us to remember our foundation. Giving it more of our time.

Profession: Love those as you love yourself. It’s easy to get frustrated when you have to work with or around people of different personalities. Remembered that everyone has a story just like you and everyone deserves understanding and empathy.

How do you incorporate your connection with God into your daily, secular work? Well, I always talk about my faith on my platforms, especially my YouTube channel. God is part of me, so He is everywhere I go.

If you wrote a memoir, what would the title be? God’s Will, Not Mine.

When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? At the age of 23, I was going through a huge struggle. I was living in a basement apartment, not able to pay my rent, my phone bill, hardly any food and finding it even hard to pay for transportation to go to work. I was at my lowest point! I was laying in bed one morning and really feeling hopeless. And God literally spoke to me and told me to get on my knees below my basement apartment window and pray and repent. I reveled all my sins and asked God for his forgiveness. At that very moment, my life changed completely!

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? God’s continuous grace in my life. He’s completed changed my life, and I am always so grateful for it!

Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): Not much of a reader, but definitely love a good podcast. Joel Osteen, Bishop TD Jakes, Steven Furtick and Sarah Jakes Roberts. Every morning!

Top three essentials:

  • Peace
  • Joy
  • Happiness

How did God speak to you recently? God has declared PURPOSE over me. He has given me strength to be consistent. Wisdom for my creativity. And divine connections. Including this platform.

Hobby: No hobbies, everything I do is in purpose.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong:

  • Pray
  • Find a community of believers
  • Read the Word, always!

Favorite person in scripture? David. He went from a shepherds boy to a KING. God also gave him generational blessings for thousands of years.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? LOVE. God is love. Make sure everything you do is focused on love. We all have to remember that love really conquers all.

“We all have to remember that love really conquers all.”

How do you leave your mark on your community? Making sure I am an example. It’s more than just talking about it but being about it. Doing the work.

Favorite holiday? Easter has become a new favorite because it reminds us of what our Father did for us. I don’t know about y’all but it makes me feel very special. I remember who I am and whose I am.

A goal you have? Pursuing my purpose full-time.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Was I walking in your will?

Thing you want to raise awareness about: Mental health. It’s important to focus on your well being. I can truly say my walk with Christ gave me my confident. Once you know who you are, you want better and you start to unravel your worth.

“Once you know who you are, you want better and you start to unravel your worth.”

What does your morning routine consist of?

  • YouVersion App
  • Prayer
  • Positive Affirmations
  • Sermon Podcast

Define Christianity in a sentence: Christianity is a relationship with God, don’t get so caught up on the “religion”– make sure you have a relationship.

“Don’t get so caught up on the “religion”– make sure you have a relationship”
