Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven,” Matthew 5:15-16
In a world full of destruction, darkness, discouragement, and doubting, it can be difficult to find the path of life everlasting. Thankfully, just by being an example unto others by walking in the faith and shining bright with the light of our Saviour, God can use us to give others hope.
This has been speaking on my heart lately as its not normally our words, but our example that speaks the loudest unto others. I truly want the impact I make on people to be of the love of our Saviour.
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Right now, I’m trying my best to, in all areas of my life (physically and spiritually), slow down and live more mindfully and simply. I’m doing this because whenever I fill my mind with unnecessary things, it only discourages me and draws me away from God. I want to focus on Heavenly uplifting thoughts and quiet my mind so that when He speaks to me or calls me, I will be ready.
Profession: Right now, I actually do not currently have a profession. I am focusing on setting up our homestead so that we can live more sustainably. Although I have been working on and creating things behind the scenes, I hope to run my own online business and be an entrepreneur one day, It’s all in God’s timing!
A one sentence bio of yourself: Just a girl, working towards living more simply and naturally, while being a light unto others.
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I didn’t grow up in the faith, and I don’t ever really remember a ‘first encounter’ with God. Rather for me, it was more of a gradual process, as I was convicted in different areas. But it was probably around the time I was 13 years old that I seriously took a look at my life. It was around then I realized how important and how much I really did need a Saviour.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Right now something that has helped me grow spiritually is realizing how much I need a true connection with my Heavenly Father. Earthy friends and family can let you down, but He will never leave you and never forsake you. He loves you always. This has helped me incredibly, transformed and blessed me in so many ways.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I am currently reading the book Experiencing God, by Henry and Richard Blackaby. It truly is so inspiring and exciting to read as it reveals how to gain that love relationship with our Saviour.
Top three essentials: My Bible, essential oils, and either an airy summer dress, or a cozy sweater — just a few of my very favorites!
How did God speak to you recently? God has been speaking to me by telling me to not lose hope. For me, sometimes dreams or goals can seem so out of reach, but I’m constantly reminded by Him to have faith for His timing is so perfect, and He will guide and direct me down the right path even when I can’t see it.
Hobby: I love doing so many things but some of my favorites are baking/cooking, painting, making my own natural products, and just being outside.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Starting your day/ making special time to read your Bible. Keeping a constant prayer communication with God. Not just in your tough times, but also in the good. Having other spiritually strong people around you for encouragement.
Favorite person in scripture? Probably Christ himself. He is our ultimate example.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I want them to learn the love, grace, and kindness of Christ. When they look at me, I want people to feel inspired to go and learn more truth, and seek to gain a lasting relationship with Him.
Favorite season? Picking a favorite season is so difficult because I love them all for different reasons. I would have to say my very favourite is fall though. It is so full of coziness, with warm sweaters, hot tea, all sorts of spices and beautiful falling leaves.
Favorite holiday? My favorite holiday… hmmm. Well, if you are talking about regular holidays, the only one I actually celebrate is Thanksgiving. But instead of those, I love keeping the feasts and festivals that are talked about and mentioned in the Bible.
A dream you have? I dream of mine is to one day be a 100% self-employed entrepreneur running a small online business. That way I would also have lots of time to invest in setting up a sustainable homestead and investing time in my family and friends.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: For some reason, when it came to this question my mind is just a little bit blank. Our family doesn’t really have any set traditions but rather is more spontaneous.
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? What was [the] true purpose of the creation of the earth?
Thing you want to raise awareness about: If I was to raise awareness about anything, it would be the importance of country, sustainable, natural, and simple living. I feel these are all things God calls us to.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Before 9 a.m., I have woken up, thanked God for another day, gotten ready, (hair, face, teeth, clothes, etc.,) eaten breakfast, did all of my house chores, food preparation for the day, and get ready for my morning Bible reading.
What is on your nightstand? A couple of books, a plant, some homemade salve, and some essential oils.
Define Christianity in a sentence: It is a simple but complicated journey walking in obedience to God so that one day you may be blessed with everlasting life.
