Noemi C.

Today, Noemi speaks to us about her desire to mirror God and to not be a replica or mirror of someone else, a passage that shows God’s mercy, and how God has not given us a spirit of fear.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.” Genesis 3:23 ESV
Although it may not sound so inspirational, this passage has touched my heart in a specific way. God sends out Adam and Eve from the garden to give them hope. The word “banished” is used in other versions, but God does not banish them to punish them, but to save them.
“God does not banish them to punish them, but to save them.”
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Feeling confident in my calling. I was appointed as an Evangelist in June 2018, I want to be the woman God is calling me to be according to his goodness for me. A mirror of God’s grace, love, and restoration in the personhood of Jesus and not a replica of someone else’s ministry.
Profession: Full-time care coordinator for a health insurance and full time founder/director for Flora Ministries, Inc. It is my passion to bring healing to hearts through the word of God, while creating a space for people to explore their giftings and talents, through acts of service.
A one sentence bio of yourself: A thirty-one-year-old Incan queen, who wants to glorify God and make Jesus known.
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? When I was 16 years old. This woman came up to me and said to me “God loves you so much.”
I have always known God loved me, but at that moment, for the first time, something clicked in my heart, and I whispered back to Him, “Wow, God… do you really know me and love me… like foreal?” I couldn’t help but cry my eyes out.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Failing. I hate disappointing people and letting them down, I put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself. When I disappoint someone, I feel like I fail. It has forced me to see certain areas in my life that still require healing and growth, as well as continuing to rely on who HE is. Failing may look different to different people, but God always remains the same. Through those failures, God glorifies Himself, if we surrender our will. We can either feel sorry for ourselves, and let our pride dictate our emotions, or we can say “Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done.”
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin. Within the first few chapters the main character describes her relationship with the boy she is in love with. She describes the first she sees this boy interact with other males and concludes this new found insight of her lover with “He must lead, but she must guard and watch”. I know, kind of weird, but it reminded me of the time when Jesus tells his disciples to stay alert and watch. The relation that Jesus has with His church. When God leads, the church finds freedom in love by watching truth nurture, flourish, and grow.

Top three essentials: Bible, phone, coffee.
How did God speak to you recently? Through a dream I had, I’m still praying about the meaning. Sometimes, I’m tempted to just google for answers, but Daniel reminds us that God is the interpreter of dreams. I have learned that the word of God provides the confirmations we need.
Hobby: Reading and walking. Not at the same time.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: 1) Abide in Him through spiritual disciplines; 2) Stay connected to other believers; 3) Don’t be afraid questions.
Favorite person in scripture? Peter. He is my Bible bae. Although I’m pretty sure we would fight all the time. One of the prayers that I repeat constantly is to continue to be transformed by the power of Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel with boldness. Some days, I feel like Peter before pentecost, and I remember that God has not given me a spirit of fear.
“Some days, I feel like Peter before pentecost, and I remember that God has not given me a spirit of fear.”
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? God is compassionate.
Favorite season? Summer.
Favorite holiday? Thanksgiving!
