Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18 NLT
This is such a great reminder that everything were going through now, will all be worth it in the end. We serve more than a just God.
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Prayer! This has truly been a season for me to learn to wholeheartedly seek God for myself and allow Him to help me navigate through life.
Profession: I am currently a student at the University at Albany pursuing my degree in Social Work.
A one sentence bio of yourself: A young woman after Gods heart, who has devoted her life to spreading the love of Jesus and helping people see their full potential in Christ.
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I grew up in church my entire life, so I always knew about God, and I got saved at the young age of 6. Although I knew God I wouldn’t say I had yet developed a personal relationship until I was about 16. I had learned to truly seek God for myself as I got older and to not rely on my church alone for spiritual growth
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Studying the word of God has truly helped me grow in this season. Not just reading to memorize scripture, but studying to truly hear what God is saying.
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I am currently reading Bad Girls of The Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs. It is teaching me that you can go through a bad season in your life and just because you’ve made mistakes doesn’t mean that God can’t or won’t still use you.
“Just because you’ve made mistakes doesn’t mean that God can’t or wont still use you.”
Top three essentials: Bible, cell phone, cranberry juice!
How did God speak to you recently? God spoke to me this morning 9/11/18. He spoke to me in prayer and had to remind me that He has not forgotten me, and every promise that He made over my life will come to pass.
“He has not forgotten me, and every promise that He made over my life will come to pass.”
Hobby: My hobbies are writing, dancing, and simply sharing the goodness of Jesus with others!
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: I would say to make sure you’re reading your word every day and not just reading to read but strategically study the word of God and hear what God is saying, stay prayed up. God answers prayers, and get into a good Bible-based church that teaches the true word of God.
Favorite person in scripture? My favorite person in scripture is Ruth. She went through so much, but God blessed her for her faithfulness.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I want people to learn that God is no respect of persons, and He can use ANYBODY. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been you’re never too far away from God. You can’t out-sin His grace. His love knows no boundaries and when God really wants you, He will dig down all of your mess and meet you where you are.
“You can’t out-sin His grace.”
Favorite season? My favorite season is fall! I love boot weather and lattes!
Favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas.
A dream you have? My dream is to open a nonprofit organization that is devoted to helping people see life beyond their brokenness and opening homeless shelters and halfway houses across the country.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: My family has Sunday dinner together every Sunday! We’re all really close.
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? If Eve didn’t sin, what would life be like now?
Thing you want to raise awareness about: I want to raise awareness about mental health issues and how God can heal you from anything wrong in your mind.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Before 9 am, I have my devotional readings. I’m currently on a plan to read the whole Bible, in a year. And I go down in prayer and have a time of worship, then I eat and get ready to head out for class
What is on your nightstand? I’m in a dorm so I don’t have a nightstand!
Define Christianity in a sentence: Christ representors, people devoted to spreading the true love of God and bringing forth His word to those who are lost
