Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: The story of Jacob. I love the Old Testament.

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: I am learning that even when I am tapped out on spending time with the Lord, He still uses me to love and inspire people. He still loves me and desires me, deeper.

Profession: I have a bachelors and master’s in social work.

A one sentence bio of yourself: My name is Winnie. And I love using writing to speak life into people.

When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I am from Kenya, so I grew up knowing that Jesus was the center one’s life. But not until Dec. of 2012 that I decided to completely run after Him. I wouldn’t take it back.

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Listen to spirit-lead music. I have been in a season where I am learning that I don’t need to put in work for the Lord to love me, but instead I am loved, period.

“I don’t need to put in work for the Lord to love me, but instead I am loved, period.”

Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I am reading the Wild Card by Wade and Hope king for school. It is an amazing book. It might be geared towards teachers, but it has amazing life lessons for everyone.

Top three essentials: Love God, love His people, and love yourself, well. Self-care, my peeps, so that you don’t give people leftovers. Always give your best.

“Self-care, my peeps, so that you don’t give people leftovers. Always give your best.”

How did God speak to you recently? I was at church, and I was having trouble worshiping. So I sat down and just asked the Lord what he had for me. He showed me the girl who was in front of me. He gave me some encouraging word for, and it was amazing.

Hobby: I love blogging, two stepping, walking and hanging out with friends.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Know your identity, know your purpose, and always hold on to the Father’s truth because when everything else changes, He is the same.

“Always hold on to the Father’s truth because when everything else changes, He is the same.”

Favorite person in scripture? How about favorite persons? I like Ruth because she is a ride or die chick. I always want to be like her and have her willingness to serve others. Second Hannah, the way she Pours her heart out to the Lord is so beautiful. And her prayer life is amazing.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? That the Father just wants us to be free from sin to Live in freedom, power, rest, and love.

“Live in freedom, power, rest, and love.”

Favorite season? Summer. Beach time!

Favorite holiday? Christmas. I am a receiving gifts type of person.

A dream you have? To become a full time blogger and speaker.

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Me and my husband always have cookies every night together. Or in other words, he makes me cookies. *laughs*

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Can we have dance nights?

“Can we have dance nights?”

Thing you want to raise awareness about: Human trafficking, education system, and how women are treated in the church.

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Sleeping! I am a night owl. I am a slug in the morning.

What is on your nightstand? Plants. They are currently my favorite thing.

Define Christianity in a sentence: People who were given life in Christ, and now they are sharing that gift of life with everyone they meet.
