Today, Aimee speaks to us about how we should identify with Noah, her dream of swimming with sea turtles, and living free of fear, and why and how we can live that way.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, will not we fear, thought the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried in to the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. (Psalm 46: 1-3)
This passage reminds me that I have nothing to be afraid of. The world we live in is full of life-threatening diseases, sin, and natural disasters. But I don’t have to be afraid of any of that. I can live my life free of fear because I walk alongside a God that has promised to never leave or forsake me.
“I can live my life free of fear because I walk alongside a God that has promised to never leave or forsake me.”
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: I am in continual prayer that God would change my heart and my attitude. There are so many worldly factors that contribute to my lack of patience, my quick judgment, and the hate that I hold on to. I want to live a life that when non-believers look at me and my attitude they can say, “Wow, there is something so different about her!” I then can proceed to tell them that I have a joy in my heart that can only be found through Christ.
Profession: Student – soon to be TEFL teacher!
A one-sentence bio of yourself: A young chick with an old soul that loves Jesus, coffee, and running.
When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and attend a Christian school. However, I did not establish a relationship with God until I was about 22. Growing up, God was just somebody who was there, who told me what was right and wrong. I didn’t really know what it meant to have a relationship with Him until much later in my life. After my husband and I got married we had to move out to North Dakota for his job. I was 22 hours away from my family and not working at the time. I was in a new environment, alone most of the time, and thought I was OK. I experienced several panic attacks. Looking back, that was the moment God was telling me that I could never do it on my own. Instead of letting the doctors medicate me, I started reading my Bible. I started praying constantly and let God take control of the situation. I haven’t had a panic attack since.
“Instead of letting the doctors medicate me, I started reading my Bible.”
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Recently, I have been listening to a podcast titled Set Apart Girl. It helps me grow spiritually because as Christian woman we should want to be set apart from the rest of the world. Leslie is great!
Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I just finished reading Live Fearless by Sadie Robertson. After reading that book, I’ve learned that there are so many things that I allow to hold me back. I’ve learned that it is God that is in control and through Him I was intended to live a life free of fear.
Top three essentials: Burts Bees chapstick, coconut oil, and my Bible.
How did God speak to you recently? I am a daily runner. I run at least 2 miles every morning. The other day, I missed my run. I woke up just not in the mood, so all day I felt off. There were some other areas of my life that also seemed to be off, and I didn’t know what was going on. Later that evening, God told me I needed to go for that run. The sun was setting, I set my phone to play one of my favorite sermon jams, and I ran my heart out. After my run I just walked, talked, and cried like a baby to God. There were so many things that I was focusing on and God reminded me that I needed to just let go and let Him. God told me that I don’t always have to be in control and that was exactly what I needed that day.
Hobby: My favorite hobby is playing my Ukulele!
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Reading the Bible every day, praying throughout the day, and creating a circle of good Christian friendships where you each inspire and help each other stay spiritual.
Favorite person in scripture? Noah. I’ve always loved the story of Noah. When we as Christians profess our love for Christ, a lot of people do not get it. They think we are crazy. And that is exactly what they thought of Noah. Noah is a great example of putting faith in God.
“When we as Christians profess our love for Christ, a lot of people do not get it. They think we are crazy.”
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I want people to learn that God is endless love and that God forgives.
Favorite season? October!
Favorite holiday? Thanksgiving.
A dream you have? My ultimate dream is to swim with sea turtles. Sea turtles are my favorite animal, and I hope someday that I can swim alongside them.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Every year my family walks the Mackinaw Bridge. This started several years before I was born. I was walked over the bridge in my mom’s stomach, pushed over in a stroller as a baby, and have walked it almost every year since I have been able to walk. I love this tradition and hope to keep it going!
“Every year my family walks the Mackinaw Bridge. This started several years before I was born.”
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? When I get to heaven I would love to ask God if I can swim with the sea turtles.
Thing you want to raise awareness about: I would love to raise awareness about human trafficking. A friend of my is a part of an organization that runs and raises money for human trafficking. Many people would be extremely surprised how often and frequently trafficking occurs.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Before 9 a.m. I’ve had a cup of coffee, spent some time in prayer, and getting ready to workout.
What is on your nightstand? On my nightstand is my iPhone charger, a picture of me and my best friend, a lamp, and my ukulele.
Define Christianity in a sentence: Christianity is a love the never ends.
