Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

It’s so important to be filled with God’s love. When we empty ourselves and let God fill us with His love, we can give others the love they need without getting empty ourselves. Our God is an amazing God, and He loves us so much. It’s important to believe that, so that we can trust Him– that He knows what’s best for us. Then, we can give God room to do the things only He can do. With Him, nothing is impossible.

“When we empty ourselves and let God fill us with His love, we can give others the love they need without getting empty ourselves.”

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: There are three topics that I want to focus on this year: God’s love for us, the Holy Spirit and real beauty.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. (1 Peter 3:3-4)

Profession: I’m a student, and I’ve just started working at a bakery!

A one sentence bio of yourself: A Dutch girl, who loves Jesus, hanging out with friends, gymnastics, sunsets and smoothie bowls.

When did you first encounter God? I’ve grown up in a Christian family, and I’ve always been praying and singing songs for the Lord. I think I was 12 when I started realizing that I really was God’s child and that He loved me. From that moment, I seriously started having a relationship with Jesus.

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Music! Christian music always inspires me, and I love singing along while being in the presence of God. Currently, my favourite song is Tremble by Mosaic MSC.

Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I’m reading Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, for the third time! It’s written out of the perspective of Jesus, and I absolutely love that. Sometimes, I read the daily message exactly at the day I needed it the most, so I really believe God works through this book. I am also reading Sharing Jesus (actually, it’s a Dutch book) by David de Vos. It is about our true identity in Jesus and how we can share Jesus with others. I learnt that when you’re tired, Jesus in you is full of energy! When you don’t feel ready for another day, Jesus in you is always ready.

Top three essentials: Contact lenses, earphones and a water bottle.

How did God speak to you recently? We can live in darkness, only looking down, but God wants us to keep our heads up. Although your circumstances may be dark, you can live in a light bubble because of Jesus. He has already overcome sin and death, and there’s nothing that can separate us from His love.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5

“We can live in darkness, only looking down, but God wants us to keep our heads up.”

Hobby: Gymnastics and dancing. I also teach gymnastics to a group of little kids!

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Start every day with Jesus. It may seem that you don’t have time for that, but when you take some time to meet God in the morning, you’ll see that you have more time in the end. Surround yourself with people with whom you can talk about Jesus. Listen to Christian music. This always gives me energy or helps me, when I feel anxious.

Favorite person in scripture? Ruth! She’s not afraid of change, and she had to take a big step of faith. She totally trusted God.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? I want them to learn that there’s a God out there who created life and that He loves every single person because He created us. We don’t have to proof anything, Jesus already did that more than 2000 years ago. I hope people can see that I am full of this truth.

“I hope people can see that I am full of this truth.”

Favorite season? Definitely, summer! I love making trips with my family, while I don’t have to think about school. The sun just always makes me happy, and I love discovering new places and countries.

“The sun just always makes me happy”

Favorite holiday? Christmas.

A dream you have? I really want to be an inspiration to others and help people. I also want to visit the United States some time!

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Every year, my family (including cousins, grandma and grandpa, etc.) and I spend a weekend at the sea.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? I wonder if God would’ve laughed about something I did. When He did, I’d like to know and laugh with Him.

“I wonder if God would’ve laughed about something I did.”

Thing you want to raise awareness about: About the fact that we’re not sinners anymore, because of Jesus. He set us totally free, so we can overcome sin! Through Jesus, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Romans 8:37)

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Spend some time with Jesus, get ready, eat breakfast and go to school by bike.

What is on your nightstand? A lamp, my alarm and some books, including my Bible and Jesus Calling.

Define Christianity in a sentence: Christianity is to believe God’s love for you, to have a relationship with Jesus, and to live guided by the Holy Spirit.
