Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: A couple of verses that have been such a blessing and encouragement to me throughout my life, and at this present time, are Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” If we put our life into God’s hands, he will lead us in life, and we don’t have to worry.
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: I believe reading the Bible on a daily basis is so important for the life of a believer. I’ve been trying to make it a focus to read a chapter of the Bible by myself, each day. I also believe prayer is so important. I feel just opening our hearts to God, and speaking to him just as we would to a dear friend, is ever so necessary in our relationship with God.
“[S]peaking to him just as we would to a dear friend, is ever so necessary in our relationship with God.”
Profession: I was raised in a Christian home schooled family. I love to work outdoors or anything physically practical. Especially, if it involves animals. Around the ages 14 to 16, I studied and completed some online university courses, in the subjects of ‘Human Anatomy and Physiology’ and ‘Food Nutrition’. Both were a challenge for me at a younger age, but I worked hard, completed them, and earned verified certificates.
A one sentence bio of yourself: I’m a country girl, British, love to have fun, find fitness and health important, and most importantly, God first in everything.
When did you first encounter God? As a young child, I knew about God, and I knew He was real, but it wasn’t until I was older that I really grew and had what I would count a ‘genuine’ relationship with God.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Just recently sadly to say, I lost a sibling, it was such a painful tragedy, and hard to come to terms with. But God really gave me so much peace and comfort in my heart, I’ve never felt so peaceful, knowing that God did take him for some reason, and that my baby brother was now in a much better place, in the arms of Jesus!
“I’ve never felt so peaceful–“
Just read/currently reading: I’ve just recently completed the book of Hebrews, and I’m currently reading 1st Corinthians.
Top three essentials: The Bible. Essentials needed to live. Genuine, trustworthy, serious Godly people to fellowship with.
How did God speak to you recently? Through the tragic loss of my baby brother, God really showed me that no matter how hard the situation might be, God has a reason, even though in many cases He doesn’t show us the reason, and He will always be with us.
“God really showed me that no matter how hard the situation might be, God has a reason, even though in many cases He doesn’t show us the reason, and He will always be with us.”
Hobby: Going back, many years, to when I was just two years in age, I got my first pet goldfish, and interestingly enough, I still have him now; he’s in fact doing very well! But ever since having my first fish as a childhood pet, I wanted to keep tropical fish. About three to four years ago, I purchased a large four foot long fish tank, and since then, I’ve expanded and currently have eight fish tanks of my own, in which I breed a selection of tropical fish and fancy shrimps, which I then sell! I also keep different breeds of chickens, and usually in the spring or summer my hens hatch some chicks, which is so sweet and cute!
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Read your Bible daily. Talk to God as if He’s your best friend and wants you to bring your problems to him as well as thanking Him for the good times in life. Communicate and fellowship with other like-minded believers.
Favorite person in scripture? I’m not the kind of person to say I have favorites when it comes to people usually, but since Jesus technically counts as someone from scripture, I’ll have to say Him. But one of my favorite role models has got to be Job. How despite all he went through losing everything, from his property and wealth to all his children, he never turned against God.
“How despite all he went through losing everything, from his property and wealth to all his children, he never turned against God.”
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? That even though I’m not perfect, I want people to see God working through me, and how God can use all of us, if we will just give our lives to Him, He will rescue us from where we deserve to go, which is hell, and rather, we can go to a most blessed place, heaven. All because God loves us so much, and wants us part of His family, He sent His Son Jesus to come and die in our place, if will repent of our sins, and put our trust in Jesus, He will give us the most wonderful gift of salvation.
Favorite season? Most definitely a time of year when it’s warm, and here in England, well, it’s never that hot, so I’m going to say summer.
Favorite holiday? My favorite biblical holiday is ‘Passover and Resurrection’. I like to prepare roast lamb for the evening meal on ‘Good Friday’.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We don’t do too much on the topic of tradition. But something we do as a family each day is have a time singing together and reading the Bible. I love playing the piano and singing, so I will often play to accompany the singing, and in some cases lead to singing too.
Question you will ask when you get to Heaven? Not something I’ve really put much thought to honestly, I think I’ll just be so grateful to actually be in Heaven, any questions will come on a later date.
Thing you want to raise awareness about: The lack of seriousness when it comes to following God, and obeying what He has commanded us in the Bible.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Depends on the day, I don’t usually get up before 9 a.m., unless I need to for work or plans.
Define Christianity in a sentence: The Truth.
