Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in.” (Galatians 2:20)
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Learning to let God be seen through me, and not myself. Depending on Him to live the Christian life!
A one sentence bio of yourself: A girl striving to obey the Lord in all aspects of life.
When did you first encounter God? I grew up in a Christian home, and accepted Jesus as my savior at age 6.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? The Thee Generation podcast. I’ve gone to Falls Baptist Church for the Cola-Clash+ they have hosted every year, since 2015. It’s a teen conference. Their motto is “Total surrender. Total dependence.”
“Total surrender. Total dependence.”
Just read/currently reading: The Pursuit of Holiness by Jerry Bridges.
Top three essentials: Essentials for life: Jesus, coffee, and eyeliner.
How did God speak to you recently? God has been speaking to me lately to just let Him work, and not worry about things, which I tend to do! Just choosing to trust God.
Hobby: I love to train horses and judge dairy cows—and read. The dairy judging season is March to May, so I’ll be starting soon. Last year, my team got 12th at the state competition. *grins* I heard about dairy judging when I started to show dairy cows in 4H, and I thought it was a good idea because it teaches you how to get the best looking cow that will produce the most. This is my third year.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong:
1) Memorize verses! This helps when temptations come.
2) Read good, Godly books.
3) Surround yourself with Godly people with the same goal as yourself– to be more Christ like.
Favorite person in scripture? My favorite person would have to be Ruth. She trusted that God would take care of her, and He did. She trusted He had an awesome plan, and, of course, He did.
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? That you don’t have to be perfect to seek after God because I am far from that; and to just see that He gives everyone a second chance.
Favorite season? My favorite season would have to be fall! I love the falling leaves, and pumpkin, and Thanksgiving!
Favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love a time where I’m reminded of all the blessings God has given me.
“I love a time where I’m reminded of all the blessings God has given me.”
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We always read the Christmas story on Christmas morning, and leave the presents until after dinner, so we’re focusing on what really matters.
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? How did Moses and the Israelites feel when walking through the dry seabed of the Red Sea?
Thing you want to raise awareness about: That Jesus loves us so much and wants a personal relationship with each and every one of us.
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? I always try to do my devotions right when I get up, to set Jesus as the focus of my day. I also make coffee.
Define Christianity in a sentence: Striving to please the Lord and glorify Him in all that you do.
