Pegah O.

I am so excited to introduce you to Pegah, an inspiring personal trainer, Cyclebar instructor and @sweat contributor. Today, Pegah shares with us her thoughts on being perfectly imperfect, her mindset for the new year, and what has stood out to her from her study of the book of Proverbs.

Pegah O.
Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
Spiritual growth focus at the moment: Being kind and loving others, despite how they treat me.
Profession: Personal Trainer, Women’s Fitness Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Lead Cycling Instructor.
A one sentence bio of yourself: Just a girl who loves Jesus, coffee and pink. My goal is to really help others become the best version of themselves. I just love to help, as cheesy as that sounds.
When did you first encounter God? I was born into a Christian family and grew up in the church. However, I did not fully encounter Christ until I was 21. I was baptized shortly after.
What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? Being in community with friends with the same values and beliefs.
Just read/currently reading: The book of Proverbs.
Top three essentials: Snacks. Nikes. Phone.
How did God speak to you recently? Just through devotions. Reminding me that although career success is great, it is not everything. My mindset for 2018 is God above all. Before every decision, every move, everything, whether it be personal or business related.
“My mindset for 2018 is God above all.”
Hobby: Spending quality time with family and friends. And of course, anything fitness and health related.
Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong:
- Actions speak louder than words. You can talk the talk, but are you actively reading your word, making time for devotions, praying?
- Who you surround yourself will impact your life. Whether that be positive or negative. Iron sharpens iron, so engage with and surround yourself with like-minded individuals.
- Giving up any ideas of perfection. We are all imperfectly perfect.
“We are all imperfectly perfect.”
Favorite person in scripture? Sarah. From her story, we learn that God’s promises always come true, and His timing is always best.
“God’s promises always come true, and His timing is always best.”
What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? That He loves them just as they are. That no one needs to fix themselves or their lives in order for Christ to love them. He just LOVES.
Favorite season? Summer.
Favorite holiday? Christmas.
A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: We have several, but my favorite is our annual secret Santa Christmas gift exchange. It brings everyone together, and it’s fun to watch it get more and more complex as our extended family grows!
Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Oh my gosh… I have so many. That’s a tough one!
Thing you want to raise awareness about: Self-love. Beauty comes from within.
“Beauty comes from within.”
What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Workout or work! *laughs* Both!
Define Christianity in a sentence: Full obedience to our Lord’s command to lead people of all nations towards Christ and to grow our faith, in Christ-likeness!
