The Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 4 (Commute Glimmer)

Welcome to The Seven Days of Gratitude. This has been a longstanding tradition at Modern Witnesses. It’s one of my favorites, and I love when our Canadian friends join in (even though their Thanksgiving happens earlier). Each day, we will name the category, and you can pick something from that category to share or reflect on that you have been grateful for over this past year. You can start this challenge at any time, and do it in any order. The hope is to embrace gratitude each day and reflect on our many blessings. This challenge always blesses me. I love when you share in the comments, or, the more popular way of sharing, by social media. Make sure to tag us. We love reposting and you can see prior years in the highlights.

With all that said– let’s continue with Day 4: Glimmer in the Commute

Sometimes, it’s the elderly couple who adores each other, and other times, it’s a tiny little child who is a ball of energy. Other times, it’s the sunset while my train crosses over the Manhattan Bridge, and other times, it’s the walk to the train station where the trees have their little string lights on— if you pay attention, even in something as routine as a commute, you can find glimmers of magic.

What glimmers have you spotted in your commute in this past year? Is it a barista’s kindness? A hot cup of something? The moon over a foggy field? The quiet of the morning dew? Horses out to pasture? What beauty is available to you?
