The Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 1 (Treat)

Welcome to The Seven Days of Gratitude. This has been a longstanding tradition at Modern Witnesses. It’s one of my favorites, and I love when our Canadian friends join in (even though their Thanksgiving happens earlier). Each day, we will share a category to share or reflect on that you have been grateful for over this past year. You can start this challenge at any time and do it in any order. The hope is to embrace gratitude each day and reflect on our many blessings. This challenge always blesses me. I love when you share in the comments, or, the more popular way of sharing, by social media. Make sure to tag us. We love reposting, and you can see prior years in the highlights.

With all that said– let’s start with Day 1: The Treat

We’ve all been there— a day when all you have done is study or work nonstop, the end of exams season, the end of a project… and there is often something that gets us all through or serves as a delight at the end— a treat.

Food changes our disposition. It can be one of the biggest pleasures in life to eat something delightful. Treats don’t have to be food, though. Sometimes, it’s a snack or latte, other times, it’s a massage or a lipgloss. Maybe you treat yourself with a fun thrift find or nostalgic movie night. Or it’s a book you have been eyeing and an hour with it in a bath.

When did a treat make your day better, this year? How did it help you reframe the moment? When was the last time you treated someone else?
