Amy Suzanne of Pink Stork

We are honored to have Amy Suzanne from Pink Stork here with us. Today, Amy Suzanne spoke to us about her growing company, a book you will want to add to your list and motherhood. A big thank you to Icon Media Group for making this interview possible.

Modern Witnesses (MW): It’s so nice to have the opportunity to get to know you, Amy Suzanne. Can we start out with you telling us about how you grew up? Where are you from? Were you always interested in wellness?

Amy Suzanne (AS): I grew up in a large family as the oldest of six kids in Northeast Florida. My dad was a farmer, and my mom was a nurse who later became a stay-at-home mom. I loved being outside and was always full of energy, so my parents put a tennis racket in my hands, and I fell in love with the sport. While I didn’t actively think about wellness growing up, it was naturally a part of my life. However, I didn’t truly focus on it until I faced serious challenges during pregnancy when I felt like my body wasn’t functioning the way it should.

MW: You have this incredible story where Pink Stork, your wellness company, was inspired by a
life-threatening pregnancy, and a battle with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I read that you started Pink Stork in your garage. When did the initial idea for Pink Stork emerge for you?

AS: Pink Stork was born out of desperation. I was battling Hyperemesis Gravidarum—severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy—and had reached my breaking point. Doctors offered little hope, but I knew there had to be another way. I started researching and experimenting with natural approaches until I finally found relief. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just about me—it was about God’s plan for my life and His calling to help other women. I knew I had to share what I had learned. I started creating products while we were stationed at a military base in Washington, D.C., and one thing led to another—Pink Stork was born.

MW: Wellness is a big field. What inspired you to focus on hormones and fertility?

AS: Wellness is a big field, and Pink Stork started by focusing solely on morning sickness. As we listened to the needs of our customers, it naturally grew into supporting women through pregnancy, fertility, postpartum, PMS, perimenopause, menopause, and overall daily wellness. We believe in taking a holistic approach—helping not just the physical body but also women’s emotional and spiritual well-being. We aim to provide products that work with the body as designed, helping women feel their best at every stage of life.

MW: Pink Stork is a wellness and supplement brand, you have hormone balance, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum products. If someone in our community wants to know where to start—is there a product you recommend? (Maybe a hero product)?

AS: It depends on their journey, but our Total Women’s Multi is a great foundational product. It supports overall health, hormones, and energy levels. For fertility, our Fertility Support line has helped so many women on their journey to conception. And for pregnancy, our Prenatal Pro is a must-have.

MW: What does empowering women mean to you?

AS: Empowering women means giving them the tools, knowledge, and support they need to take control of their health and lives. It’s not just about providing supplements—it’s about creating a community where women feel heard, valued, and strong enough to advocate for themselves.

MW: You are a mother of six. What is your favorite thing about motherhood?

AS: There’s so much I love, but seeing my children grow into who they are meant to be is my favorite part. Motherhood is refining—it’s taught me patience, love, and resilience. I love watching them develop their strengths, overcome challenges, and pursue their passions.

MW: What are your top three essentials? (It can be anything you don’t leave the house without…):

AS:

  1. Phone- can’t live without it. I live by my Google Calendar.
  2. Nausea Sweets- unfortunately, I get car sick easily, so these are a lifesaver.
  3. Tula baby carrier- it’s so soft, and he loves it, plus I’m hands-free!

MW: How has your relationship with Jesus changed you?

AS: It’s changed everything. I’ve always had a close, personal relationship with Jesus, but experience has strengthened and deepened it like most things in life. Through motherhood, business, and life’s challenges, my faith has grown stronger and more confident. I trust in His plan, knowing that He sets my path straight, and that gives me peace and purpose in everything I do.

MW: Tell us about anything you just read or are currently reading (and what has it taught you?):

AS: I’m currently reading The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. It’s challenged me to slow down and be more intentional with my time. As a mom, wife, and CEO, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, but this book has reminded me that true peace comes from resting in God’s presence.

MW: Is there a special tradition you and your family engage in or keep?

AS: With our busy schedules and everyone always coming and going, we’ve made Sunday our dedicated “family day.” It’s our time to slow down, be together, and truly connect. It’s funny to see how many things we’ve had to say “no” to keep this time special and protected, but it’s one of the most important commitments we’ve made as a family.

MW: What does your morning routine consist of?

AS: My husband always jokingly sends me other CEO/Founder morning routines—cold showers, meditation, perfectly made coffee, etc. Well, that’s just not my reality! Most mornings, at least one or two kids have made their way into our bed, and I’m immediately greeted with “What’s for breakfast?” questions. From there, it’s a whirlwind of getting six kids fed, dressed, and ready for school—while hopefully making myself look halfway presentable for the world. It feels like Grand Central Station, and lucky for me, I love the energy and thrive in complete chaos!

MW: If you had to define Christianity in a sentence, it would be:

AS: Christianity is the unshakable truth that we are deeply loved, saved by grace, and called to live in faith, obedience, and love through Jesus Christ.

About Amy:

Amy Suzanne Upchurch is the Founder and CEO of Pink Stork, a wellness brand dedicated to empowering women through science-backed products and a supportive community. Her journey into entrepreneurship was profoundly influenced by her personal health challenges during pregnancy. Diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum—a severe form of nausea and vomiting—during her first three pregnancies, Amy faced significant physical and emotional hardships. At one point, she was given just 24 hours to live due to a life-threatening blood infection contracted during her first pregnancy.

Determined to find a holistic approach to her health, Amy collaborated with healthcare professionals, including her mother, a registered nurse, to develop a regimen of natural products. This proactive approach led to a healthy and enjoyable fourth pregnancy, a stark contrast to her earlier experiences. Inspired by this transformation, Amy founded Pink Stork in 2015 with the mission to provide women with natural and effective wellness solutions.

Under her leadership, Pink Stork has expanded its product line to include vitamins, supplements, gummies, and teas that support women through various life stages, including PMS, fertility, pregnancy, menopause, and overall well-being. The company is proudly women-owned and operated; more than 80% of employees are female. Amy’s commitment to community is evident in initiatives like the Customer Obsession division, which focuses on creating a sense of belonging and support for women facing similar health challenges.

Amy’s story is a testament to resilience, faith, and the transformative power of natural wellness solutions. She continues to inspire and support women worldwide through her leadership at Pink Stork.
