Seven Days of Gratitude: Day 2

The Seven Days of Gratitude are an annual tradition and gratitude challenge for us at MW. We have seven days leading up to Thanksgiving (U.S.) where we reflect on different themes that help us reflect on the things we can be grateful for. Some are obvious and some are a bit more random. I hope you join us on this journey of reflecting on gratitude. You can journal it or share with us on social media @modernwitnesses_ on Instagram. Tag us or do #SevenDaysofGratitude. As always, we are grateful to God for you and everything you are doing to reflect His light.

Day 2 theme:

Community

They say one should say ‘yes’ to more things because it can lead to amazing places. This past year, I said ‘yes’ to get-togethers I might have said ‘no’ to in the past. When I said ‘yes’, it ended up being a gift to me.

One of the memories I am most grateful for was saying yes to a meetup hosted by one of my favorite writers. It was a beautiful day (we stayed together basically the whole day). I had incredible conversations and met some really fascinating people.

One morning, I went to a local bakery I hadn’t been to in a while and saw the owner, who is a friend. We chatted for a while, and at the end of that, we acknowledged that we had made each other’s days. When facing a time of grief this year, so many of you reach out to me offering your prayers and encouragement. It was gold. I treasure all of that. We need each other. Community feeds our souls. We are wired for it.

Where did you find community this year? Share with us and express that gratitude. God places people around us to shine light along the journey.

Have fellowship with one another as you walk in the light of God.
