Today, Bianca shares with us thoughts on how God found her in the midst of her routine, finding Jesus in our moments of isolation and loneliness, and dealing with social media’s false perfection.

Inspiring biblical passage of the moment: “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8 NLT

Spiritual growth focus at the moment: I am currently focusing on how to serve others before myself. After having my first child, I became dependent on my husband to do everything for me. It became a habit after a while to just ask him to do something, instead of just doing it myself. I started noticing it the other day and realized it has affected other areas of my life as well. So that’s my current focus.

Profession: I am a stay-at-home mama.

A one sentence bio of yourself: Someone who genuinely and wholeheartedly loves Jesus and wants to share His love everywhere she goes.

When did you first encounter God and how did you encounter Him? I grew up in church. That is such a common thing to hear now a days. I remember one day sitting on the couch thinking there has to be more to life than the routine of going to church, reading my Bible, and praying. I am missing something. He opened my eyes to the what I had been searching for. An intimate encounter with Him. My life has never been the same.

What has helped you grow spiritually in this season? What has helped me grow in this season is Jesus. I have started to become so transparent about how I am feeling that it has taken my relationship with Him to a whole other level. Being at home with my son has been a challenge. I have felt isolated and alone at times. I have truly learned to rely on Him and reminding myself that I am never alone. He is ALWAYS with me.

Just read/currently reading (and what has it taught you?): I am currently reading a book called I am Found, and it has taught me that I am going to mess up. I am not perfect and the Father knows that. I can trust that I am found in him. I have to stop trying to find purpose in other things. There is a sense of lack of perfection that I begin to feel whenever I get on social media. You see all of these people posting pictures of perfect outfits, perfect locations, and perfect friends. It can be hard to realize that a picture is only a second in time. You only get a glimpse of a good day. But you really have no idea what someone is going through or feeling the rest of the time. I began to feel inadequate because my life doesn’t look like that. This book has helped me understand that I am beautifully and wonderfully made the way I am. My Father loves me and at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters.

Top three essentials: Journal, hot chocolate, good book.

How did God speak to you recently? Through my husband, actually. He has helped me to really dig deep into what God is calling me to be and do. He reminded me of things God has told me in the past. He encourages me to keep moving forward.

Top three practical tips for staying spiritually strong: Surround yourself with people that challenge you, find books that talk about what you want to grow in, spend time in worship with Him. Making Jesus a priority in your life is always IMPORTANT

Favorite person in scripture? Esther.

What do you want people to learn about God when they look at you? How much He LOVES them.

Favorite season? Fall.

Favorite holiday? Christmassssss.

A dream you have? To write a book that touches people all around the world.

A special tradition you and your family engage in or keep: Eating dinner together.

Question you will ask when you get to heaven? Why did you create me?

Thing you want to raise awareness about: Mental Health– especially in our day and age social media has corrupted what we think our lives should look like. Some people see their worth in how many followers or likes they get. It can be depressing and exhausting trying to be something you are not. Too many people are wanting to end their lives because they don’t feel like they are worth anything. Too many people are hiding their anxiety because it isn’t “cool” or what other people deal with. I want people to know that it’s okay to feel the way they feel. Let’s find out what the Word says about it, together.

What do you usually do before 9 a.m.? Day begins with sending hubby off to work. CJ (my son) and I watch Veggie Tales, while he nurses and I eat breakfast. We play together. I usually nap with him *laughs*; Get housework done. Hubby gets home. He cooks. We eat dinner together. We begin the bedtime routine about 7 pm. Showers then pjs. Baby done. Hubby and I watch a show, talk about our days, study, or he produces and I blog.

What is on your nightstand? Diapers, water bottle, and sound machine.

Define Christianity in a sentence: A personal relationship with the Father.
